Our focus is on state laws and broken institutions that enable HOA abuse of power through homeowner or developer-controlled governing boards, management agents and HOA attorneys.
Nevada’s Common-Interest Community (CIC) Task Force was created to tackle systemic HOA governance problems that legislators have acknowledged are hard to address during Nevada’s short, biennial sessions. Established by SB 392 (2019), it authorizes the Director of the Department of Business and Industry to convene a task force to examine HOA issues and develop practical, vetted reform proposals for lawmakers. Because its recommendations could shape CIC legislation for the 2026 session and beyond, its early structure and direction matter a lot.
