Now most HOA's have their documents online for easy access.

Not my favorite strategy but sometimes Board Members or Ex Board Members, who may be friends, can help you navigate the waters on issue with an HOA.
There are a few great HOA experts for hire in Las Vegas. This may be an alternative solution if you have the funds to spend and need information quickly. An internet search can help you find an expert.
Every HOA pays a fee to the Ombudsman's Office. They field questions from homeowners and HOA Board Members. You can call and ask their opinion. They are not a substitute for legal advice but can help.
